Sorrah EDWARDS-THRO

Sorrah Edwards-Thro
SLP-A in Training
Speech Language Pathology Assistant – Student Trainee
With Triumph since: 2023

Sorrah (he/they) hails from southern Virginia and brings a rich academic journey to the table. Having pursued a degree in linguistics at William & Mary, Sorrah embarked on a post-baccalaureate journey to prepare for a future in speech-language pathology at the graduate level. During their undergraduate studies, Sorrah found their calling in the realm of anti-colonial literacy instruction. Sorrah enjoyed collaborating with Haitian educators to revolutionize classrooms into vibrant spaces where “education is a conversation,” one that thrives in the students’ mother tongue, Haitian Creole.

Sorrah’s own life journey has gifted them with firsthand experience in autism, fostering an appreciation for working directly with neurodivergent individuals. Their roles as a tutor, personal care companion, and paraeducator have allowed them to make a meaningful impact. As a budding SLP-A, Sorrah’s passions range from augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to gestalt language processing to bilingualism. They take pride in crafting environments that are supportive, playful and affirmative, while promoting self-advocacy. Sorrah is excited to learn and grow alongside the Triumph team and clients, all while continuing to make a positive impact in the world of speech-language pathology.
