Emily Birnbaum pursued a master’s degree at Gallaudet University, where she had the invaluable opportunity to serve the Deaf community. While still committed to supporting this population, Emily expanded her clinical scope to encompass receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, stuttering, and other areas of communication. Her experience includes working with children who have dyslexia, dysgraphia, rely on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or are gestalt language processors.
Emily’s enthusiasm for helping children of all ages has deep roots—she began working with kids as a summer camp counselor and quickly realized her calling. She thrives on building collaborative relationships with families, recognizing that parents and caregivers are invaluable experts on their child’s needs and strengths. Her practice integrates evidence-based interventions such as articulation therapy, phonological awareness strategies, social communication instruction, and language-based literacy supports. Above all, Emily prioritizes creating individualized treatment plans that respect each child’s unique goals and background.
Driven by the joy of seeing children reach their communication milestones, Emily is committed to empowering every child to find their voice and flourish in all facets of life.
