Briana Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Auburn University, with a minor in Psychology. Her passion for speech began at a young age and has grown through diverse experiences working with children across educational and clinical settings.
Briana has hands-on experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant in both school-based and outpatient pediatric environments. Most recently, she provided therapeutic support to students in the District, including those who are non-verbal and use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, such as traditional speech-generating tools and eye gaze systems. She is well-versed with participating in IEP meetings, tracking progress, and collaborating with supervising clinicians to deliver individualized, functional interventions.
During her matriculation at Auburn, Briana worked closely with children in early intervention settings—including daycare and preschool—supporting clients using AAC, articulation therapy tools, and oral placement strategies.
Briana’s clinical interests include early language development and fostering communication skills that promote independence and confidence in daily life.
