Emilee Kucheruk is a licensed occupational therapy assistant and has been practicing for two years. She has experience in skilled nursing, orthopedic, and school-based settings, and has a passion for working with children. In 2019, she completed her Associate of Applied Science for Occupational Therapy from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to that in 2016, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Psychology at the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia.
She grew up in Northern Virginia and from a young age has worked with infants and children. Her mother had a successful home childcare business for over 30 years, and Emilee gained much of her knowledge about children and the importance of learning through play from her mom.
She joins Triumph Therapeutics after working as an ABA Instructional Assistant for Fairfax County Public Schools. While there, she worked primarily with kids with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional dysregulation, and emphasized the importance of social interaction and self-advocacy. Through her years of work with infants and children, she has seen the power of play shape them into more confident, intelligent, and strong individuals, and has seen the ways in which it helps teach, develop, and connect them to the world around them.
Emilee has been a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and Virginia Occupational Therapy Association since 2018, and follows current evidence-based practice for pediatrics. During sessions, she enjoys incorporating her creative background alongside her understanding of mental health issues. She greatly enjoys exploring the area’s many offerings and being outdoors. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, kayaking, playing and watching sports, and drawing.
